Adding Accounts during import
When importing a Trial Balance or Journal entry using a template you can add files on the fly.
Click Import Data.
Click Download Template (NOTE: Templates are specific to the Property/Company so you will not be able to use the same template for different properties or companies)
Open the Template in excel
In excel Right-click the Row number and click "Insert"
A blank row will appear You can add a account by entering the account number and account name separated by a · for instance:
1458·NewAccount
If you need to add subaccounts you can add subaccounts to any account by listing the parent account then separting it with a colon : for instance:
1458·NewAccount : 1458·New Sub Account
So in this example it will look like this in Excel:
Save your work!
Upload your template. You can drag the file to the upload Template section or click the area to browse your local files.
Once the file starts you will see a progress window:
A window will appear with the option to add the accounts. When done click Add Accounts and wait for the screen to refresh.
In the window you will only see the Subaccount because no data was associated with the parent account.
Note if organizing subaccounts using the import seems cumbersome, a common practice is to add the Accounts and then go back and reorganize them later using the Edit Account .
